BRP To Sell Its Marine Division
Bombardier Recreational Products today announced that it is paring down its powersports business by selling its marine division, including the Alumacraft, Manitou and Telwater brands, and the parts, accessories and apparel business.
Sea-Doo personal watercraft, Sea-Doo Switch pontoons and jet propulsion products are excluded.
“After careful consideration and given the current dynamics of both the marine and powersports industries, we have decided to double-down on our core powersports activities and sell our marine businesses,” BRP president and CEO José Biosolid said in a statement. “Over the past few years, we have built a solid foundation by investing in the development of innovative marine products and upgrading the production facilities. As such, we believe that these iconic brands can offer attractive value creation opportunities for a new owner.”
According to the statement, BRP will channel its efforts and investments toward powersports year-round products; seasonal products; parts, accessories and apparel portfolio; and its OEM engine business.
